Meet Bridget. Bridget is a Girl Scout and senior at the Hockaday School in Dallas. As a Girl Scout, Bridget completed her Gold Award by focusing on Mosaic and the ever increasing need of services for survivors of human rights abuses. This prestigious award challenges girls to change the world and to make it a better place.

Bridget spent the last two years collecting favorite recipes and stories from Mosaic clients and staff. After creating over 150 recipe books, she sold them to friends, family and community members. With the funds raised, Bridget put together “Welcome Bins” for clients rebuilding new lives free from violence. She created 12 welcome bins that included the following items in each:

Kitchen:
  • Place setting for 6
  • 4 mugs
  • 48 piece flatware set with organizer
  • 16 water glasses
  • Cooking utensils
  • Cutting board
  • Frying pan, small saucepan, large saucepan with lids
  • 4 bowls with lids
  • 2 medium sized casseroles
  • Colander
  • Dish clothes, towels, pot holders
  • Food wrap, foil
  • Paper towels
Bathroom:
  • Toilet paper
  • Toilet brush
  • Bath mat
  • Towel set for 2
  • Toothpaste & toothbrush
Cleaners & Misc.:
  • Bar soap
  • Dish soap
  • Sponges
  • Laundry detergent
  • Bathroom cleaner
  • Broom & dust pan
  • Mop & bucket
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • First aid kit
