Visitors had a great time at Klyde Warren Park on Saturday for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Family Health Fest, part of UWMD’s Nine for 90 celebration. As part of the fun, volunteers put together 500 snack packs and 500 hygiene kits for the residents of Mosaic House, our shelter for survivors of human rights abuses including domestic violence and human trafficking. When they arrive at Mosaic House, kids receive snack packs and activity kits while their moms go through our intake process. Because they have often fled abusive situations with only the clothes on their backs, hygiene kits are the first thing they receive as they get settled in.
In the coming year, we will provide safe haven to more than 400 women and children who will find hope and healing within the walls of Mosaic House. We couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers, donors, and supporters, including United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Thanks, United Way!
