Yesterday, we were proud to host United States Senator John Cornyn at Mosaic House for a discussion of the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, anti-trafficking legislation that Sen. Cornyn is sponsoring. Representatives of the Dallas Police Department and human trafficking survivor Melissa Woodward joined the Senator for a tour of Mosaic House with staff and residents, followed by a press conference.
In the 13 years since we began serving victims of human trafficking, we have helped more than 400 women, children, and men build new lives after escaping human trafficking. Last year alone, we worked with 75 survivors of trafficking, providing the shelter, counseling, legal representation, and support services they needed to build new lives. We support bipartisan efforts to fight human trafficking and ensure that survivors have access to justice and opportunities to build new lives.
