The Legal Program provides free family and immigration law services to survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence. Many survivors need immigration assistance, especially if their legal immigration status depends upon an ongoing relationship with their abusive partner or if they are eligible for special visas for trafficking survivors (T-Visas) or crime victims (U-Visas). Studies have concluded that legal aid is more effective than access to shelters or counseling services in reducing domestic violence. Through the legal measures, such as protective orders and emergency custody orders, victims can be protected from their abuser, and achieve freedom and independence. We focus on educating as many potential clients to help avoid continued manipulation and exploitation and seek to represent those most in need.

We offer the following free legal services:

Family Law Assistance:

  • Divorce
  • Child Custody
  • Protective orders
  • Child Support

Immigration assistance:

  • U-visa (Victim of Crime)
  • T-visa (Human Trafficking)
  • VAWA Self-petition (Domestic Violence)
