Hello! I am Maria Vazquez and I’m the Director of Transitional Housing for Mosaic Family Services.

I was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico but I have lived in Dallas most of my life. I attended the University of North Texas at Dallas and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree. Immediately after graduation, I began working towards my Master’s in Social Work degree at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Throughout my career, I’ve been able to work with nonprofits in the Dallas area in a number of settings, including emergency shelters and within Dallas ISD schools. I’ve had the honor of assisting families throughout DFW to help locate resources for medical needs, mental health and basic needs.

As Director of Transitional Housing, I oversee the housing needs for our clients. I manage a team of two staff and work closely with all departments to ensure clients obtain the services needed. Together, we provide housing, case management and economic empowerment classes to ensure they are successful and gain housing stability once they graduate from our program.

My favorite hobbies are spending my free time with my family. I love working out, but I also love food. I also love road trips and traveling with my family.
