Avocado Smoothie Recipe (Sinh Tố Bơ)
This recipe is a favorite of Mosaic Youth Service’s Program Director, Kim! Even her sweet kids have loved these smoothies since they were babies (see picture of baby Zoe below!)
The avocado was introduced in Vietnam in 1940 by the French and has since grown in popularity. Many recipes make it a savory accouterment to certain dishes, but this smoothie recipe puts it in the sweet category with just four ingredients!
Ingredients:
1 medium ripe Haas avocado (the Haas variety is usually creamier in texture & nuttier in taste)
1 cup of ice
1/3 to 1/2 cup of milk or milk alternative
1/4 cup of condensed milk or non-dairy condensed milk
Directions:
Cut the avocado in 1/2 and remove the seed by knife. Just hit the seed with the sharp blade of the knife, and you should be able to remove the seed easily. Scoop the avocado flesh with a spoon and put in your blender. Add all the other ingredients as well, starting with 1/3 cup of milk or milk alternative. Blend well. If the smoothie is too thick, then add more milk or milk alternative and blend again. Enjoy!
