Hello, I am Claudia, and have been working with Mosaic for 12 years. I am the Clinical Director for the Mental Health Program at Mosaic. I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Social work from UT Arlington and in Counseling from Texas A&M. I am licensed in the State of Texas as a Clinical Social Worker, an Academy Certified Social Worker, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional; I also have acquired a certification in child-centered play therapy and EMDR. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in counseling from Texas A&M. I am also an LPC in the State of Texas. My experience has mostly been working with women and children, especially those in vulnerable populations, a range of socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnicities. I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, domestic violence, parenting issues, PTSD, and complex trauma. My goal is to be able to provide and guide emotional healing to those in need.
On a personal level, I am originally from Lima, Peru, and bilingual in Spanish; I came to the U.S with my family when I was 13 years old because my older brother wanted to pursue his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineer at USC in California. I love to dance; love the performing arts like ballet, musicals, and karaoke. I enjoy going to spas, the beach, chocolate, and coffee. Since I read a lot of psychology books, there are times that to decompress I switch to books from authors like Nicholas Sparks and Ruth Ware.
I am a member of several Associations such as the American Psychological Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the American Counseling Association, and the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
