Residents of Mosaic House, our emergency domestic violence and human trafficking shelter, were moved from the shelter to hotels in anticipation of this week’s winter storm. While unoccupied, the shelter lost power, and the first floor flooded with water as a result of a burst pipe. Because of Mosaic House’s condition, shelter residents will continue to stay at hotels for at least one more week.
Although this situation is critical, we are so thankful that our shelter residents were safe at hotels when the storm came through and that they have had power and heat this entire week. Between the cost of repairs to the shelter and extended hotel stay for our shelter residents, the expenses from this unprecedented storm are quickly adding up. Please help Mosaic recover from this disaster by making a gift today. Your support will enable us to fix the damages to our shelter and continue to house residents at hotels.
